1 package chocolate cake mix
1 (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Fill paper cupcake holders 1/2 full. In a small bowl - beat cream cheese, sugar and egg together. Add 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (optional) and 1 cup mini-chocolate chips. Drop a teaspoon of cream cheese mixture onto each cupcake. Bake according to cake package directions. Immediately remove from pans.
These freeze well and are great without frosting.
